Senior Game Designer

Skillsearch is seeking an experienced Senior Game Designer to join our client's growing team of experienced developers on some very exciting up-and-coming games! This full-time Senior Designer role is based in Auckland and comes with a compelling salary and benefits package.

You will be working closely with the Directors, forming the vision and creative foundation of the games. You will also be leading a team from prototypes to final worldwide releases of these titles. They have a growing team of industry veterans and talented newcomers working in a fun, collaborative, and diverse studio.

If you were already in this Senior Game Designer role, here are some areas you might have worked in this week:

Conceptualise and in-depth development of our games as well as participate in the creation and review of new and innovative game concepts and ideas

Lead and mentor other game designers in the studio

Review work at various stages of implementation to ensure the execution matches the vision, goals, and quality requirements

Research and develop, contribute to market studies and trends, and propose new game concepts/ideas

The successful Senior Game Designer applicant will have 5+ years of game development experience, preferably working on F2P games. You will also require:

Release of at least 2 games

Experience designing core game systems

An excellent understanding of the mobile market and knowledge of monetisation in F2P games

Expertise in game design, with experience designing and implementing game mechanics and systems

Experience in level design and game development
