What you'd be doing in this role Building tools and frameworks that help us rapidly and reliably conduct experiments across different parts of the Canva app Design, develop and deploy solutions and hands-on software development – working closely with leads, designers, and product managers to deliver features and experiments to our customers worldwide Work collaboratively and consult with leads, product managers, and engineers across teams at Canva to unblock front-end works that help your group deliver features and experiments to our customers worldwide Identifies opportunities for cross-team collaboration to work on new ideas and improvements that help achieving our goals Designing public APIs, balancing good design, extensibility, ease of use & delivery, with versioning and migrations, and supporting old versions with deprecation periods Adding public APIs on internal core features requires aligning closely with core Canva teams, ensuring underlying code and data structures are exposed correctly, allowing for real time multi-user collaboration, and without compromising future core feature development or architecture changes You're probably a match if You will be at home working in our core technology environment - our core stack is JavaScript, HTML, CSS Firmly grounded computer science and engineering fundamentals including concurrency, multithreading, data structures, solution design, architecture, and design patterns Experience with TypeScript (or other typed languages), React, MobX (or other state management libraries), particularly using types on APIs to provide guard rails for developers Interest in focusing on integration code Experience designing easy to use APIs with versioning About the team With the proliferation of innovations in generative AI and as large organizations have increasingly complex workflows to manage their designs, Canva is well poised to become the platform that simplifies access and discovery of services related to visual design. We are already working with hundreds of developers to enable access to these exciting products with our Apps SDK and Canva public REST API! As one of the teams in Ecosystem, the Developer Experience Platform team maintains the core infrastructure housing apps and making them, and all associated configuration, available to our clients. Our clients range from the app listings as a part of our various marketplaces to the app sandbox that runs developer code on the FE. What's in it for you?
