Responsibilities include leading the tendering process for your assigned projects, including preparing take offs, pricing, productivity calculations & negotiating with suppliers & subcontractors. You will ensure all contract & other critical tendering risks are identified, assessed & covered in the submission. You will assist in post-tender negotiations & work with the Project Management Team to refine and continually improve estimates and methodology, & work with our Project Managers to support with project cost, delivery & variances.You will support the Estimator Lead with portfolio wide functions such as global estimating program, rate comparison tables, estimating resource management tables, annual leave register, and other areas of process improvements.What we're looking for:10+ years' estimating experience in the civil construction industry.Relevant tertiary qualification.Experience with land development &/or infrastructure is essential.Experience with local Authority standards including ATCOP, Council, Watercare, Code of Practice etc.Experience with New Zealand standards mainly NZS 3910-2013 and others as applicable.Understanding of CANDY system (or similar).Great verbal and written communication.Excellent attention to detail, accuracy & efficiency.Ability to work autonomously.Who we are:From five friends in 1993 to a family of over 460 today, Dempsey Wood is a family-owned, industry-leading civil construction company operating across Auckland and the North Island.
