Strong understanding and appreciation of the democratic process and in particular local government.
Someone who can work independently using their relationship skills to progress and influence councillor outcomes.
Someone who is very comfortable working with elected members and senior staff on complex issues.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, gained through providing advice to a range of stakeholders, with excellent digital competency.
In return, you will be immersed in a team of passionate colleagues with a thirst for supporting our elected members to address the regional challenges of developing a growing city. This role will also have you connect across council with other advisors, policy advisors, and senior staff to further develop your experience and expertise.
Auckland Council is one of the largest local authorities in the South Pacific, providing essential services and facilities to more than 1.6 million people. We are progressive socially, culturally, and environmentally while we work towards creating change.
