At Alphero we create beautiful and inspired digital products and experiences that deliver better outcomes for all of Aotearoa and beyond.We do this by approaching problems and opportunities with a brave and inventive mindset, and connecting heart with purpose to create solutions that elevate the digital experience from effective to extraordinary.We are now looking for a wonderful, curious and creative person to come join the Alphero design team.In this role, you will be helping to form high level ideas and design strategies, then translating them into seamless user experiences that resonate deeply and create lasting impact.This will require balancing technical and organisational constraints and objectives, with diverse user needs, while applying HCD methodologies, user experience heuristics, product and systems design, as well as design thinking across multiple projects.You'll bring with you a well rounded toolkit of discovery, research and product design methods and workshop activities, and know just when to pull them out and use them. You'll be adaptable to learning new ones too, while working alongside our strategy and design leads.You'll actively enjoy being part of a supportive team of colleagues and clients and understand the value of sparking ideas by working collaboratively in person. At the same time, we absolutely support flexible and hybrid working for balance.You'll work directly with a rich variety of clients and on really interesting projects from media streaming services to cutting edge health technology, energy, education, transport and the arts.At Alphero, we recently rebranded with new pillars that run right through our business. Our whole organisation gets behind these, and you'll be working alongside a committed team of strategists, developers and fellow designers who are all helping to bring these to life!What you will focus onUsing a variety of research methods to clearly understand business drivers and customer needs and establish the mission and desired outcomes of a project.Producing and documenting elegant, usable and responsive user interfaces that work within known technology constraints.Collaborating closely with our dedicated developers and eagle-eyed testers to create outstanding experiences - and iterating and improving on these throughout the life cycle.Supporting and leading the continual growth and improvement of the design practice at Alphero, and mentoring and coaching junior members of the team.We're looking for people with 5+ years experience and you may have come from a client or an agency background.If you want to help shape the digital future, then get in touch, let us know a bit about you, share your portfolio and we can go from there!Flexibility around hours and the option for hybrid working with a day or two WFH a week.
