Fluid Recruitment is excited to exclusively work alongside the Invercargill City Council to help bring their next Senior Design Engineer into the team.
The Position: This position is not a common one across the country, with the council being one of the few who have an in-house design team.
Reporting to the Engineering Services Manager, the Senior Design Engineer will be a technical leader amongst the rest of the team.
You will be responsible for reviewing the work done by the team as well as work coming in from external consultants.
Not only does this position have a technical focus, but there is also an operational side with preparing reports, actively working with contractors, and providing expert advice to help give a change in the day to day.
About You: The ideal candidate for this position will be someone with extensive experience in Civil Design, particularly in the Stormwater sector.
We are also looking for a strong leader who can inspire their team and has the ambition to help and mentor others.
The successful candidate will also need to have: A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
7+ years of experience in Civil Design, with a focus on Water Infrastructure.
Experience in leading, developing, and motivating a team.
Contract management with experience utilising NZS3910.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.
Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation and expenditure control.
