What will you be doing? Reporting to the Data Engineering and Platforms Lead, you will own the solutions and build them in a secure, reliable, and scalable manner.
As a high performing member of our engineering team, you will contribute to delivering the Data Platform capabilities and services, as well as improving our existing platforms and data engineering practices.
You can expect to be across the following: Design and develop end to end data pipelines using tools such as Talend, DBT, SSIS and Azure Data Factory
Mentor team of Data Engineers with best engineering practices and provide technical leadership.
Translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
Design data solution architecture, data models, data migration, integration, analysis, and visualisation.
Exposure to ETL/ELT and Governance tools.
Maintain the enterprise data warehouse (Snowflake) and all integrations associated with it.
Work with the team members in supporting existing pipelines.
What you'll need To be successful in this role, you will also be able to demonstrate the following:
At least 10 years' experience in the Data Engineering/modelling/Business Intelligence space.
An understanding of the general insurance or financial services market would be beneficial.
Data Consulting or professional services experience is an advantage.
Proven experience working with Snowflake Administration and Development tools - SnowSQL, Snowpark, Snowpipe
Ability to develop new data pipelines using Talend, DBT or equivalent tools and model datasets using DataVault, Relational and Dimensional modelling techniques.
High attention to detail and with the ability to analyse data using tools like Power BI or Tableau.
Have worked with Agile scrum practices.
