Senior Bookkeeper with pathway to Leadership RoleWe are a successful Professional Bookkeeping Services/Management Accounting firm based in Pukekohe. We partner with our clients and their accountants offering daily/weekly/monthly accounting services to ensure our clients have confidence in their numbers to make sound business decisions. We run client hubs of 3-8 bookkeepers to ensure we can support both our client's workflow requirements and our team to ensure there is cover in place for their leave.The opportunityWe are looking for an accomplished Senior Bookkeeper/Management Accountant looking to take the next step in their career. You will be confident in XERO Monthly Management Accounting and managing client service needs ready to move into an oversight and coordination role as a Hub Co-Ordinator. This is our introductory leadership step which flows through a pathway to full Team Leader. Hub Co-ordinators can decide if they like to come off the 'day to day tools' and move into a training and team support leadership role. Keeping this at the center of our business we will have support & personal development for the team and the business will grow)#3 - Ethics (to uphold strong industry standards while providing high quality support to our clients to ensure their businesses have accurate audit worthy accounts)You will be responsible for:Oversight of the client workflow requirements and service delivery for the hub.Workflow planning as client needs change, ensuring cover is in place for staff leave, and accountability for compliance activities for the hub clients and our internal processes.Review of EOM/EOY workpapers, Payroll reporting and GST.Confidently covering team members leave easily building a strong rapport with clients.Manage the onboarding of new clients into the hub to ensure processes are streamlined then training a team member to take over as the client account manager.Provide day to day motivation for your team.Continuously staying up to date with technology changes to ensure our service delivery is constantly evolving in line with the technology and looking to grow our support with clients through identifying opportunities to extend our contracted services.You will be the voice of your hub providing feedback to management and assisting in the development of our internal KPI's and policies.Management of the administration required for invoicing the hub's clients and reporting the team outputs and billable time ratios ensuring service delivery is at the heart of work while producing a profitable return.About youA Senior Bookkeeper with experience within a professional service setting and a passion for client service delivery. You will have:Minimum 4 years' NZ bookkeeping/accounts experience with a minimum of 2 years working on Xero.A passion for helping people and a love and knowledge of technology.An enjoyment of working in a team environment and experience providing support/training for other staff.Able to work unsupervised and manage your own workload to deadlines.Strong ability to multitask and manage constant workflow changes related to client needs/staff absence.The ability to demonstrate initiative and a hunger to constantly learn.A clear and articulate communication style, including excellent written and oral communication skills.What we offerFlexible working arrangement with timebank opportunities across the month to ensure our team can prioritise their family needs alongside our client requirements.A busy, team working environment where no day is the same.An organisation committed to growth of both the business and each individual team member.We believe knowledge is power and will provide constant opportunity for both internal and external learning.We work collaboratively with professional accounting firms to support interesting clients wanting a high-level service delivery.We have an open comm's policy for the team to provide feedback and quarterly engagement surveys, we want to hear innovative ideas to ensure we remain at the forefront of the industry and are always nimble.The successful applicant will start by taking over a client desk for the first 6-12 months to learn each of the clients inside/out from a daily services perspective. They will be supported by a current Hub Co-Ordinator/HC to learn our internal processes and understand the HC role. Once fully integrated we will hire a new team member to join you to be trained on managing the client workflow. Once that transition is completed additional team members will be moved into the hub as the HC gains confidence and learns each of the client requirements for their team. It is anticipated that the growth of the hub will occur over a 9-18 month period depending on the experience of the candidate.This growth pathway is now well established.
