As our newest Senior Advisor - Health Safety and Operational Security, you will play a pivotal role in providing stakeholder and team guidance, and oversight to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and security across all operational facets.
Your responsibilities encompass team and management support, stakeholder engagement, and risk management.
Your focus will be on aligning health and safety practices with organisational goals, promoting collaboration, and mitigating risks effectively.
This role is agile in response to demand changes and not necessarily equal in time and effort across all areas of delivery.
Activities will change and be defined on both a demand and a skills basis, with a strong focus on delivery.
Flexibility is essential to our successful delivery approach.
This role will see you working both online and in person with stakeholders to manage risk and improve health and safety capability across the business.
You'll be trusted to work autonomously within a collaborative group environment and promote best practice health and safety, as well as carry out investigations with the support of our Lead Advisor.
Flexibility will be key as we respond to changes within the organisation over the next 6-12 months, travel will be required.
To be successful in this role, you'll possess the technical skill and prior experience to carry out the role and responsibilities confidently and competently.
You'll bring a true commitment to advocating for the basics of Health & Safety, with a focus on promoting Health & Safety principles to manage risk rather than providing a done-for-you service.
You'll have 4+ years of prior Health and Safety experience, preferably in government, construction, or property management sectors.
You'll have a Level 6 NZQA qualification in Health & Safety, such as Nebosh, IOSH, and ICAM investigation, or previous experience in Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Management.
Ideally, you will have experience in running investigations.
Proven experience in incident and risk management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Implement robust risk management processes and systems to enhance safety performance and minimise operational disruptions.
Must be able to travel.
