About the role: As the Senior Advisor Finance, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will need to be both passionate and experienced when it comes to business partnering and fiscal management.
In this role, you will build strong relationships with Deputy Chief Executives and line managers to guide, advise, influence and support them in their fiscal responsibilities.
Some managers have not held a budget delegation before, so skills and experience in stakeholder management is essential.
You will also have a strong service ethic which will enable you to quickly form trusted relationships with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
In this role you will support the Finance, Performance and Assurance team to: ensure the Commission achieves value for money through efficient and effective use of its funding strengthen the finance function through seeking continuous improvement opportunities, and the development of accountability documents and internal controls assist the team in carrying out financial processes and producing accountability documents support the development and maintenance of the capital plan and the asset management framework.
To succeed in this role, you will: have a good understanding of financial management and best practice in the Public Service be qualified as a Chartered Accountant (or equivalent professional qualification) have experience in the public sector with a sound knowledge of the legislative framework (including the Public Finance Act) and other guidelines that apply to financial management accounting in the government.
be proficient in Excel and finance management information systems, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and tools.

This position usually pays between $106,296 and $129,471 depending on skills and experience.
The full range allows for progression up to a maximum of $142,176 depending on skills and experience.
