The Schools and Community Engagement (SCE) Office champion the values of Taumata Teitei. Their engagements will be mana enhancing, their korero inspiring and their actions empowering in preparing secondary students for the journey and the next phase of their voyage through education.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
Are you passionate about guiding students on their educational journey and fostering strong stakeholder relationships? Join our team as the Scholars Outreach and Engagement Manager, where you'll lead and execute outreach initiatives for high-achieving school leavers, including those in Cambridge International and International Baccalaureate programmes.
You will play a key role in developing and implementing strategic engagement plans to support the University's student recruitment goals. You will also collaborate to create and maintain effective digital outreach strategies, assist faculties with delivering successful engagement strategies, and build strong, mutually beneficial relationships within the University and with schools and community groups.
Some key responsibilities include:

Leadership & Strategy: Oversee programmes like the Young Scholars Programme, Catalyst Programme, and Student Ambassador Programme.
Partnership Development: Collaborate with internal services and faculties to ensure cohesive support and resources.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with senior leadership at top schools and within the University.
Operational Management: Plan and coordinate on-campus outreach activities, provide guidance to faculties, and monitor engagement outcomes.
Continuous Improvement: Leverage stakeholder feedback to enhance programme effectiveness and engagement.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), Permanent Opportunity

Successful candidates must have experience developing relationships with stakeholders, and developing and implementing digital outreach strategies. The ability to engage with senior level stakeholders at some of New Zealand's top schools is essential. Our ideal candidate will bring the following:

Proven experience developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
An understanding of the NZ secondary school system.
Experience of being involved in transformational change.
Experience in the development and implementation of market strategies for specific segments.
Experience in developing and implementing digital outreach and engagement strategies.
Experience of working with and understanding the needs of a diverse range of clients.
Commitment to and understanding of Te Ao Maori, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
