You will be working on a unique and stunning alpine network in the areas of Queenstown and Wanaka, conducting routine and emergency maintenance to ensure the upkeep of infrastructure, providing safety to the public.As one of the custodians of the Queenstown roading network, you will play an instrumental part in your crew's success by motivating and supporting the team to provide exceptional maintenance solutions across the network. You will also:Be responsible to ensure all work is completed to the satisfaction of our customersEnsure that all Zero Harm and production targets are metProvide clear records and reports on all activities undertaken by Downer staff and subcontractorsOffer coaching and training to your crew to grow their capabilitiesThe day-to-day tasks you and your crew will carry out include:Minor traffic management site setupExcavator works including drainage, water channel clearingMinor structure repairs including bridges and retaining wallsResponding to customer requestsAttending to safety or significant faults and providing short and long term repairsClearing obstructions from carriageway, footpaths and drainage systemsCleaning and maintaining culvert inlets and outlets as well as roadside furnitureCapture QA records and accurate asset information as requiredAfter hours emergency responseBased from Frankton Queenstown, this is a permanent, full-time position, primarily working Monday – Friday however flexibility to pick up occasional weekend work, rostered winter maintenance work, and on-call shifts may be required.Important Skills | Nga pukenga matuaTo be successful in this challenging yet rewarding role, you will have excellent communication skills and solid customer and commercial awareness on site.
