Are you passionate about influencing sustainable development within Porirua City through applying the provisions of the Resource Management Act? This role sits in our Resource Consents & Monitoring Team which has scope to accommodate, develop and reward your level of expertise. These roles are more than processing and enforcement; we are looking for people who have a positive approach to engaging with stakeholders.
You will need to show us that you:
have a working knowledge of the Resource Management Act and relevant legislation and by-lawsideally have experience working in roles involving monitoring and enforcement activitiesenjoy the challenge of managing and resolving customer complaints while bringing a customer focus to the heart of everything you dohave a passion for creating sustainable solutions and building positive working relationshipshave a full unrestricted New Zealand driver's licencehave the ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, to carry out onsite investigationsYou will be doing things such as:
physically monitoring compliance with resource consent conditions, including conducting routine and random inspections onsitebuilding relationships with local sub-contractors and builders and taking a proactive approach to improve silt and sediment controlsscoping and designing education programs to proactively engage with our development/building communityresponding to land use complaints and taking appropriate action where necessarygathering evidence to enable enforcement action to be taken under the Resource Management ActThis is your opportunity to join our organisation; we are passionate and committed.
