Selling good to customer and attend to any complaints; ensure resolution of each complaint to achieve maximum customer satisfaction
Completing store operational requirements by recruiting, scheduling and assigning employees
Maintaining store staff so business works efficiently at all times
Discipline employees, planning, monitoring and appraising employees
Preparing annual budgets, schedule expenditure, analysing variances, initiating corrective actions using various software applications
Formulating pricing strategies
Pricing the products ethically and ensuring customers are not ripped off
Use software to find sales volume as a percentage of total stocks of different products and use it as a guide for future operations
Keeping optimum stocks of products and minimise wastage
Ensuring availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts
Selling products on 'Specials' to minimise 'best before' and 'expired' goods stocks
Marketing and Merchandising
Identifying current system/process issues and ensure improvement
Maintaining reputation of store
Determine marketing strategies
Analysing and recommending innovative marketing strategies to cater for local demographic to achieve budgets
In store marketing and merchandising during special occasions (e.g. ANZAC day, Easter, New year, Boxing days etc) to inspire customers and increase sales
Marketing and advertising the products in a genuine and ethical manner, ensure marketing and advertising campaigns speaks for company's products and services and do not defame other retailers' products and services
Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures
Ensure business operations meets all ethical and social requirements
Checking inventory, determining products to be kept in store and maintaining stock levels, ordering and purchasing as and when required, checking for deliveries
Interpret and predict current and future customer needs to review promotional offer and provide feedback on which offers to take up based upon knowledge of customers demographic and buyer trends
Attend meetings with sales representatives, suppliers and wholesalers and discussing new products available in market and discussing future requirements; negotiate goods prices
Complete any assignment, project work or tasks as directed or assigned from time to time
Ensure safe work practices and adherence to health and safety of staff and customers
