The Black Sheep Bar and Grill – Whakamarama, North Island
Position: Restaurant Manager
Employment Type: Full Time
The ideal candidate will need to have experience leading a small but enthusiastic team at The Black Sheep Bar and Grill. We are located in the heart of Whakamarama (Western Bay of Plenty district) with fantastic views, a relaxed atmosphere, and an art gallery. We serve lunch and dinner, offering coffee and tea services.
We are looking for:
Previous relevant work experience of at least 2-3 years within the hospitality industry, ideally at a management level.
A qualification in hospitality would be preferred.
Strong financial acumen and numerical ability.
Ability to manage relationships with customers, suppliers, and staff.
Local NZ experience preferred.
Menu planning and maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety.
Engaging with customers and handling inquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
Excellent Barista skills and knowledge of wines, spirits, and cocktails.
Good knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
Hours of work – Minimum 32 hours per week.
Managing restaurant costing.
Must have Manager's certificate and LCQ certificate.
Food safety certificate is a good to have.
Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
Excellent communication skills for handling customer complaints.
Must work weekends and be willing to work on public holidays.
Willingness to undergo drug tests and police clearance.
Day-to-day running of the restaurant and bar to comply with health & safety policies and the Sale & Supply of Alcohol Act.
Working with the chef to develop and enhance menus and ensure correct pricing of menu items.
Complete understanding of the Food Control Plan.

If you are successful, we can offer you a very competitive remuneration package and the opportunity to influence the direction and success of our restaurant. Pay rate: $32.00 to $35.00/hour (depending on experience, it may exceed).
