Evidence shows that by investing in supporting whanau antenatally and in the early years of life to create an environment which enables tamariki to grow, develop and be nurtured is key to supporting their lifelong physical, mental and emotional health. In line with this, we play an integral part in creating lifelong, and intergenerational wellbeing.

Plunket Nurses go far beyond weighing babies. Our scope of practice and duty of care means that assessing the development of our clients and the clinical aspects in our top to toe physical assessments co-exists with exploring the wider environment pepi is in. At Whanau Awhina Plunket, we walk alongside caregivers across Aotearoa from all backgrounds, including those who are experiencing difficult periods or other issues which make their load more complex. The change and impact we make might not be fast, but is certainly fulfilling when we are able to make a difference.
