Teaching - Early Childhood (Education & Training)
A unique opportunity has come about for a certificated Teacher to join a dynamic and diverse team at Lumsden Kindergarten in the sunny Hawkes Bay. This centre is unique in their approach to early childhood education; they have high standards for providing the best care to tamariki and take great pride in fostering a fun, dynamic, and nurturing environment where little minds are opened to the big world of learning.
The team at Lumsden have two centres connected side by side - Big Lumsden (3 - 6 year olds) and Little Lumsden (0 - 3 year olds). They have a 68 licence collectively across both sites and a team of 12 Teachers with great room leadership in place to provide support and mentoring. There is flexibility on the classroom you join and the start date is also flexible.
This role would best suit a registered Teacher (provisional or full) who is passionate about what they do and is ready to pursue excellence in teaching!
This is a permanent, full-time position working 35 - 40 hours per week across five days.

Minimal paperwork expected of Kaiako - learning snippets and no paperwork is expected outside of standard work hours.

What would we like to see from you? Bachelor's degree in early childhood education (ECE)
New Zealand Level 7 Qualification in Early Years Education
Current New Zealand Teachers Registration or be close to obtaining it
A genuine warmth, care, and passion for children.
Team-player who is collaborative and reflects upon best practice.
Knowledge and understanding of Te Whariki.
To be considered for this position, you will need to be residing in New Zealand with full work rights. Overseas applicants will not be considered.
We are open to engaging with Kaiako of all different experience levels including students in their final few months of study or Teachers seeking a relocation to the Hawkes Bay towards the end of this year or early next year.
