Job Description We are seeking for a talented, passionate casual Recreational Therapist.
The role empowers you to create a recreational programme for seniors living in a care supportive environment.
You will be leading a culture of purposeful engagement which promotes dignity and independence through the therapeutic recreation process.
This is a permanent, full-time role based out of our Karaka village.
Responsibilities include and are not limited to: Promoting meaningful activities that meet the needs of residents.
Empowering residents to make choices.
Support residents to maintain autonomy and maximise independence.  Encourage and support residents to participate and engage in purposeful recreational programmes.
Applying the APIED process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, documentation) for individual or group recreational programmes.

Qualifications You: A passionate, flexible, self-motivated, innovative, energetic, open-minded individual.
A person with sound understanding of holistic person center approach and high level of human awareness (empathy & compassion).
A person who can run individual and group recreational activities.
A person with good communications skills and strong willingness to learn.
Full NZ Driver License and the ability to drive a Mobility Van A Registered (qualified and licensed) Diversional and Recreational Therapist is desirable.
If you don't hold a DRT Licence, or if you are not a Qualified DRTh, you must be willing to complete the NZQA Certificate in Diversional and Recreational Therapy Additional Information We offer: A unique role that enables you to make a real difference in the lives of senior citizens.
