If you love the great outdoors and you want to kick your career off in a place where it is all about living, learning, and building a sound portfolio of clinical experience that in many ways can exceed what your colleagues would experience in a larger Centre, consider Timaru Hospital. Timaru has very few Registrars competing against you for clinical experience, allowing direct one-to-one interactions with excellent Consultants. We expect you to participate fully in theatre cases assisting alongside your Surgeon. Our surgical runs include subspecialties attached for added variety (Pain, Ophthalmology, Dental and ENT). Timaru has weekly protected teaching sessions and Hospital Grand Rounds, along with access to specific courses such as ACLS.
