Te Papa Atawhai Department of Conservation's Morere Hot Springs team is looking for the next valuable member!
As Ranger Visitor Centre, you will join our front of house team as an all-rounder, playing a key role in ensuring our guests are safe and are provided with an exceptional experience. You will be responsible for opening and closing the facility, checking in and charging customers, and monitoring pool activities. Cleaning, gardening and pool daily maintenance will also be a part of your duties.
You will need to be available to work weekends. Hours will be from 10am to 6.30pm, sometimes with earlier/later starts/finishes.
The role responsibilities include:
Customer service: assisting and advising customers about the facility services and promotions, processing payments, balancing the till at end of shift.
Retail service: sales, monitoring stock levels, restocking and reordering, receiving deliveries.
Maintenance and cleaning: kiosk, pools, gardens buildings, reporting maintenance issues to leadership, cleaning and maintaining towels and other linens for customers.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

A friendly and sincere attitude, capable of working independently and alongside a team.
Ability to follow instructions with a high level of attention to detail.
Great customer service, versatility, flexibility, ability to troubleshoot/problem solve, pride in your work, and a willing attitude.
Great time management with a punctual work ethic.
A strong focus on safety and a current first aid certificate is ideal.
Experience in working with an EFTPOS point of sale or in a retail environment is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $58,816.00- $66,578.00 pro-rata with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience. Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
