Project Path is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team of Project Controls professionals. Project Path offers Specialist Construction Project Planning, Programme Management and Project Controls consulting services. Their expertise is in the areas of Tender Programmes, Programme Delivery, Programme Delay Analysis, Claims, and Cost Budgeting/Forecasting. What will you be doing ? Supporting tender team with preparing Cost Estimates, Bill of Quantities / Schedule of Quantities, by studying construction drawings, specifications and methodologies. Interact with Sub-contractors and Suppliers to get quotes, prices and negotiate with them on pricing and contract conditions. Monitoring and capturing all scope changes, assessing cost impacts and processing variations to changes. Organising with Sub-contractors the manpower, machinery and materials deliverables to construction site, and co-ordinate with them on site activities. Managing budgets, cost forecasting and reporting, identifying and highlighting cost creeps and assessing sub-contractor claims. Give and take inputs from other teams on procurement, quality, programme and on cost effective measures. Interact and Support the PMO/Planning team as required to track both cost and time, and for a timely programme delivery. Give and take inputs to all weekly / monthly reporting and represent commercial team in all client and site-based meetings. You Will have: You'll have the following experience and skills: A degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying. At least 5 years of experience as quantity surveyor or cost engineer, preferably in the construction sector. Experience working on infrastructure projects. NZIQS membership. Extensive knowledge of industry best practices, standards, processes and systems. Experience working on different type of construction contracts, especially New Zealand contracts. Advanced Microsoft Excell skills, and experience on programme tools such as Microsoft Project. Excellent attention to detail with focus on accuracy. Ability to work collaboratively with others in the teams to get things done. Excellent time management and organisation skills. You'll be an effective communicator, outcome-focused and a team player. Importanatly New Zealand Work rights. This is a role which requires sound budgeting and cost forecasting skills, along with robust project cost administration capabilities.
