Quality Manager - Solar Pv Projects

This is a two-year fixed term contract for a Quality Manager for a large Ground Mount Solar PV Project in Christchurch. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. In addition, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality management systems, conducting inspections, and collaborating with various stakeholders to guarantee the successful delivery of the ground-mounted solar photovoltaic projects.
Position responsibilities will include:
Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive Quality Management System for ground mount solar PV projects.
Conduct regular inspections of solar PV installations, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
Coordinate and oversee testing procedures for solar panels, inverters, and other system components.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and quality control activities.
Generate regular reports for project stakeholders, highlighting key quality metrics and performance indicators.
Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to establish and maintain quality expectations.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to address quality-related concerns.
Identify potential risks related to project quality and develop strategies for risk mitigation.
Skills & experience required:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.
Extensive experience in quality management from within the solar energy industry is preferred but will be open to talk to those with suitable construction sector experience. Modular installation, tracker systems and alignment are key.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) is a plus.
Knowledge of solar PV technology and ground mount installations is highly desirable.
