Ko Taku Reo - Deaf Education New Zealand AucklandProvision lead teacher - Ormiston Junior CollegeFull time, PermanentPrimary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Syndicate leaderEnglish, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Maori, The artsSDAAt least 0.1 leadership release plus CRT releaseSupport to complete the teacher of the deaf post graduate qualification with a Ministry of Education study award.The role / TE MAHI We are seeking a class teacher with full New Zealand teacher registration to be our next lead at our Ormiston Junior Provision.The successful applicant will: Be willing to start a journey to learn NZSL with our support or already have NZSL skillsBe a skilled teacher in using assessment tools to progress learningHave the right attitude to work with a range of deaf and hard of hearing students across a range of communication modes and in varying learning contextsHave strong knowledge of the NZ Curriculum means you will have the ability to adapt and differentiate the New Zealand curriculumHave strong classroom management skillsBe able to plan for students' individual needsBe able to build strong connections with families.In this role you:Experience a supportive and well planned induction to deaf educationHave class sizes that are smallWill work within a Deaf Provision Teaching Team, which includes teachers and teacher aides of the deaf, with access to other specialists as required including Speech Language TherapistsHave opportunities to team teach with other teachers of the deafReceive continued and generous PLD as you grow into the roleBe supported to complete the teacher of the deaf post graduate qualification with a Ministry of Education study award.
