Bishop Auckland College is seeking to recruit a Pastoral and Learning Mentor who will be responsible for supporting the students' personal, social and educational needs within our Alternative Provision. They will support qualified subject teachers in the classroom and general school environment and contribute to the overall ethos, work, and aims of the department.
As a Pastoral and Learning Mentor, you will be responsible for understanding students' individual needs to ensure that they remain engaged and thrive throughout their learning experience.
The successful candidate will be required to possess CACHE L3 Teaching Assistant/ PTLLS or equivalent Level 3 qualification in supporting in the classroom (or willing to work towards), and a Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Math's and English (or willing to work towards).
It is desirable that the candidate also possess a Level 2 Safeguarding qualification, IT qualification, Level 2 Equality & Diversity, and a relevant vocational qualification. Applicants will also have experience of working as a Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role previously.
This role will include responsibilities within safeguarding and the postholder will be engaging in regulated activity.
