The Disability Support Services Group (DSS) is being established to ensure fairer access to disability support services in New Zealand, ensuring those with the greatest needs receive quality support services.
The DSS Review Taskforce has been established to implement the recommendations of the Independent Review in DSS to:
provide disabled people with certain and consistent access to DSS, no matter what their circumstances or where they live in New Zealandprioritise funding for disabled people with the highest needs, and those who would benefit most from early intervention supportensure that Enabling Good Lives (EGL) principles are put into practiceensure that the long-term sustainability of DSS is strengthened to provide disabled people and carers with services that are both fair and affordableWe are looking for an experienced Project Manager to support the transition of disability support services into MSD and the Taskforce's work to implement the recommendations of the Independent Review into DSS. This is a high priority project and great opportunity for you to use your project management skills to support the work we are doing to provide fairer access to disability support services across the country.
As the Project Manager you'll work closely with the Programme Director and the Workstream leads to support work of the Disability Support Services (DSS) Taskforce.
Day to day you'll oversee the quality assurance processes, and track performance of the overall work programme. You'll work to build team capability helping to strengthen project management excellence across the team.
You'll support and manage bespoke projects where needed, ensuring projects are delivered successfully through: leading and applying knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to meet or exceed the stakeholder needs and expectations by following the MSD Project Management Frameworkensuring timeframes are kept, quality outcomes achieved, budgets are managed and related impacts across other business units are managed effectivelyThis is a 12-month fixed term role.
Minimum Requirements: Experience in a project, policy workstream or change management role, within the New Zealand public service.Knowledge of and experience in the use of project management methodologies.A proven track record leading work planning, quality assurance, and business process, with strong interpersonal and communications skills.Exceptional relationship management and the ability to influence others to proactively direct projects.Strong coaching and mentoring skills with the ability to pass on project management skills and knowledge to others.The ability to maintain strong working relationships with relevant key stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to understand financial data and information, cost out all options and support recommendations with quantitative data.To apply, click the 'Apply Now' button to upload your CV, cover letter and complete the online application form.
