The role of a Project Manager As a Project Manager, you'll be crucial in successfully delivering Customer Initiated Works (CIW) and Network projects through all phases, from start to finish.
Your strategic insight and meticulous planning will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
You'll be the main contact for internal and external stakeholders, managing customer expectations and maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating with the design team for project scoping and design, ensuring procurement and documentation are handled and in line with company policies, and overseeing the scheduling and execution of project activities.
Your role will be pivotal in managing project health and safety, monitoring progress, and providing regular updates to all parties involved.
You'll ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company procedures while creating a culture of continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities: Serve as the main contact for external CIW and network projects.
Coordinate project scoping, estimation, and detailed design with our Network Design team, ensuring material procurement follows company procedures.
Oversee scheduling and execution of project activities, including HV outages, switching instructions, traffic management, and cable locations.
Proactively manage project health and safety, addressing incidents or risks and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Complete and forward project documentation accurately, including as-builts and invoicing, while maintaining comprehensive project records.
Monitor and control project costs, forecast cashflows, manage variations and invoicing and address variances with the Project Delivery Manager.
Ensure external project providers are properly inducted, managed, and compliant with documentation, contracts, and HSEQ reporting.
Collaborate with the Delivery Operations team for scheduling and resource management and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
About you You should have at least three years of project management experience, ideally in an electrical distribution network environment.
While an electrical qualification, current EWRB electrical registration, and practising licence are preferred, they're not essential.
Skills in project financial management, including estimation and financial forecasting, and expertise in Microsoft Office products, notably Microsoft Project, are advantageous.
You're a passionate and driven leader, always ready to take on new challenges and eager to develop your career further in the electricity distribution sector.
You'll be proactive and hands-on, ready to manage projects from initiation to closure.
Your leadership will inspire and guide your team, ensuring they're motivated and prepared for any task.
You have a knack for problem-solving and can make decisions quickly and accurately.
Your collaborative nature will be key as you build positive relationships with our team, customers, and community.
Lastly, you'll be a strong communicator and team-oriented leader.
You'll be self-motivated, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely, always upholding the highest safety and quality standards.
