He Pou a Rangi Climate Change Commission is an independent agency dedicated to driving climate action in Aotearoa New Zealand, with a strong statutory mandate. We provide impartial, evidence-based advice to the Government on mitigating and adapting to climate change. We also monitor progress towards emissions reduction and adaptation goals and report on this publicly.Join the Commission as we expand our efforts from primarily mitigation to a comprehensive approach that includes adaptation, the national climate risk assessment, and monitoring the country's progress on climate action. We uphold the treaty partnership by ensuring our work reflects Maori views and Te Tiriti o Waitangi The Treaty of Waitangi.The Project Coordinator, as part of the Programme Management Office (PMO), will support the successful delivery of the statutory programme of work, along with other projects across the organisation. The Project Coordinator will work closely with Project Directors and project teams, and is responsible for providing project, logistical, and general coordination support to projects.This role would suit someone who has prior experience in project management or coordination, is great at building relationships across the organisation, champions tikanga Maori-led approaches in the workplace, and excels at planning and coordinating work.Nga herenga | The role will involveIn this role you will lead or contribute to:Project planning, monthly reporting, and risk managementOrganising and supporting workshops, meetings and external engagementSupporting te ao Maori approaches to ways of working and engagement at the Commission by bringing a tikanga Maori-led approach to project coordinationOperating and improving PMO project management processes, tools and templates, and assist project teams on the use of these.Demonstrated experience supporting project teamsacross concurrent projects that are medium to large in scale.Proven effective use of project management methodologies, with relevant tertiary qualification and project qualification such as PRINCE2 or PMI.An understanding of risk management and quality assurance controls applied across the project lifecycle.Highly effective planning and organisational skills, including time management, resource management and prioritising work in a complex work environment.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to identify, build and actively manage key relationships, valuing diverse perspectives and experiences.High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, Teams, Planner and Visio.An understanding of government processes, systems, and tools.A sound understanding of te Tiriti o Waitangi/the Treaty of Waitangi, the Treaty principles, and familiarity with te ao Maori (including tikanga and kawa) and the relevance to the work being undertaken at the Commission.Ability to promote the integration of tikanga Maori-led approaches in the workplace, , with an understanding of Iwi/Maori whakapapa relationships and the tikanga that applies when building relationships with Maori.
