Programme Coordinator - Freshwater (Fixed Term 2 Years)

Details of the offer

Environment Southland offers generous leave provisions - 3 days wellbeing days per year, 12 days sick leave, free flu shots, free parking, and an active social club. We have a dynamic and friendly working environment, access to a wide range of technology, training and support, and the chance to make a real difference to Southland's natural environment.

Our Integrated Catchment Management group has a crucial role to play in promoting positive on-the-ground environmental change in the community. You'll be working to support the team with the many projects that are being delivered alongside our community. We do need you to have a positive can-do personality as we have some challenges ahead as the Council works to meet the community's aspirations and government requirements.

You'll have a tertiary qualification or a minimum of 3-5 years relevant work experience and have experience at maintaining and reviewing project plans, project finances and producing effective presentations, status reports and other project artefacts. Strong inter-personal skills will allow you to bring calm and order to busy times, and you'll love looking for solutions. Experience working for a Council or in community projects will really round off your application.

Skills required:

Familiar and comfortable with tikanga maori.

Flexible and highly adaptable to ever-changing priorities.

Ability to share complex ideas to a variety of audiences and build and maintain rapport with others.

Accurately and clearly convey timely information and ideas, using a style and manner of presentation appropriate to the target audience.

Sound judgement and initiative.

We are looking forward to you helping us as we link more closely to the community with our work. You'll directly contribute to our mission of "Working with Southland's community to improve the environment" and we hope you'll enjoy the connection this role brings. There are benefits of working for an organisation that provides a positive and supportive work culture, engaging and diverse colleagues, and the beauty of Southland's great outdoors at your back door.

If this sounds like the opportunity for you, go to:

https://environmentsouthland.recruitmenthub.co.nz/Vacancies/ to apply and upload your CV and cover letter. Your cover letter will be a key part of our assessment process, so please highlight how your experience relates to the key skills required for this role.

An initial offer of remuneration will be made within the range $78,570 - $82,935.

Applications close: 10 November 2024
