Our business is growing at a rapid pace, and so is our Digital team. This team is responsible for all of our media planning and buying for dozens of brands across multiple continents, making it an incredibly unique opportunity in New Zealand. Within this team, we are recruiting for an experienced Programmatic / Media Buying Lead for our Toys business.
The Programmatic / Media Buying Lead will oversee and be responsible for all media campaign buying for all Toys brands including XSHOT, Mini Brands and Bunch o Balloons. ZURU is one of the biggest Toys distributors in the world, so this presents an opportunity to run exciting market-leading campaigns for some of the biggest brands in the business on the world stage.
Our activity runs across TikTok, The Trade Desk, Meta, Amazon, Walmart and the Google ecosystem, with room for growth in PDOOH, audio and eCommerce. We have fantastic relationships with these tech partners, and the successful candidate will need to be able to leverage those.
Essential to success will be the relationships built with the Media Planning Manager, Data and Analytics Manager, content leads and ZURU Toys brand teams to ensure all campaigns ladder up and deliver on business objectives. All resources sit in-house at ZURU, which is a fantastic platform to drive innovative, agile and effective work based on consumer insights and trends. The Buying team is also responsible for how these campaigns are reported on and how insights are surfaced across our brand and commercial teams to drive effective retailer conversations.
There will be three direct reports, with the potential for this to increase in the future. Managing individual development, facilitating efficient delegation and creating a team ethic are therefore integral.

ResponsibilitiesCreate, oversee and execute digital paid amplification campaignsDrive campaign execution to meet key performance metrics across Facebook, Instagram, Google, TikTok, The Trade Desk and other relevant platformsManage three direct reportsStrategically lead campaign delivery for Tier 1 markets (e.g. the US)Oversee campaigns across all global markets and regionsUtilise technology to automate and improve outputWork collaboratively and progressively with tech partnersEvolve the team structure and processes to ensure flawless delivery of campaignsEvolve the reporting structure and cadence delivered at a global levelRequired4+ years' experience in Digital Marketing or MediaMedia buying experience working with Facebook Business Manager, The Trade Desk, Google ad products and TikTok Ads Manager is optimalOpenness to listen, learn and adapt to always do betterComfortable sharing opinions in a productive mannerAbility to multi-task, take initiative, prioritise, stay organised, and manage time effectivelyWillingness to take responsibility and be accountable for the work of the teamToys, entertainment or retail experience is preferable ABOUT ZURU ZURU is on a quest to reimagine tomorrow.
