·640 ha effective farm milking 1450 cows once a day through a 60-bail rotary·Competitive salary, health and life insurance ·Located between Taupo and RotoruaWork with a collaborative Manager, who will support your developmentThe OpportunityIn this Production Manager (2IC) role, you'll work in a collaborative team, where the Farm Manager encourages everyone to bring their ideas to the table.Renown Dairy in Reporoa is unique, as they milk OAD for the entire season.This is a true leadership role where you'll bring your honest approach, strong work ethic, friendly nature, and farm operations expertise to this high performing property.You'll manage the team daily, everything from planning work, pasture management, farm maintenance, and feeding out.You'll confidently delegate work and keep the farm running effectively and efficiently.You'll be developing the capability in the team – leading by example, so your ability to operate farm machinery (two-wheeler, tractor, etc.)is an important aspect of the role.With the support of the Farm Manager, you'll help to identify areas where process improvements can be made, and you'll also receive coaching and development so that you're able to run the farm when the managers on leave.The FarmWe're a progressive dairy farm, we are also recent finalists in the Waikato Balance Farm Environment awards.We are committed to our staff, our animals, and the environment.Renown is located midway between Taupo and Rotorua on State Highway 5, with 1450 cows that are milked once a day through a 60-bail rotary shed, that has a vast array of technology to help monitor & measure overall performance.The farm is set on 640 ha of varying terrain.With a team of seven (including the Farm Manager) we all lead by example, we show empathy towards animals and each other, working as a team, ensuring the safety of our animals and our people.About You You'll be good at planning and will have a strong understanding of dairy operations.This is a senior role, and you will bring:·Experience leading a team·Proven experience in responsibility for pasture management and staff planning·Effective communication skills·Strong internal motivation and ability to positively motivate others·Ability operate a range of farm vehicles ·First class attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare·Restricted or full driver's licence·Confident working with farming software and other farm tech used in day to day operationsBenefitsWe offer a competitive remuneration package including salary, health, and life insurance.The role comes with a very nice 4-bedroom house.
