About the role The key purpose of the Procurement Manager role is to maintain a fit for purpose procurement strategy for the Council Group that allows use of appropriate policies, process and tools for managing purchasing activity, achieving optimal value and managing risk acceptably.

The Procurement Manager will play a strategic role in driving financial sustainability, supporting best practice procurement, collaborating across the Council Group, and enabling ongoing improvement in the maturity of procurement activity into the future.

About You To be successful in this role you will possess: Proven leadership skills ideally within a procurement environment Ability to inspire, influence and motivate people Proven experience in working with central or local government is advantageous though not essential A deep understanding of best practice and applications within procurement Strong commercial and financial acumen coupled with strategic dexterity Experience in contract management, supporting systems and complex processes Finely tuned project planning and project management skills Recognised qualification in commerce, finance or similar is a nice to have Excellent communication skills both verbal and written In return We offer a fantastic working environment and a career that you will enjoy and can take real pride in.
