We are looking for a visionary, creative Principal Experience Designer to join Alphero, a leading digital agency in Aotearoa.At Alphero we have a bold vision to reimagine the many current (and new) digital products in the market that have become homogenous and commoditised, and turn them into stand-out experiences that delight users, deliver impact to our clients - and inspire new clients to bang down our door! In a nutshell: to put the creative (and heart) back into digital.This is where you come in! As a deeply curious person, a strategic UX thinker and creator, you'll be right at home setting the design direction of the biggest, most complex digital products and channels out there. But we don't just want to create cookie cutter experiences. You know the patterns and you are prepared to break them to create something radically new, and a whole load more awesome. Ideally you are a creative changemaker, you favour outcomes over process, and you love pushing boundaries in order to create the next generation of digital experiences.This is a pivotal role in a wonderful, dynamic and inventive design team. As a Principal, you will be involved in engagements from digital and product strategy, to leading the design for some of our most epic digital programmes. Beyond that, you will take ownership of your area of the practice, help set the practice direction, and lead and inspire our designers to grow and succeed.At Alphero our brand pillars run right through our business and guide us in everything we do. Areas of focusEpic work - you will lead the imagination and creation of some of our most inspirational and aspirational digital experiences. You could find yourself in any sector, working on anything from blue sky digital product strategy and conceptual design, to re-inventing how people work, or flipping a consumer self-service model on its head. Your work will deliver impact, results and wow.Design practice awesomeness - You will lead your own practice area - exploring the possibilities of digital design, technologies and emerging trends to support our design director in continually evolving and elevating the level of our work, our design practice, processes, and capabilities.Wonderful mentor - You love growing others and actively mentor and grow other designers both working directly with you on projects, and across the design team.RequirementsYou will have at least 10 to 15 years of experience, with a proven track record of leading the creation of impactful (and stunning) experiences. You may have started your career in brand, creative, or some other branch of design but have settled into a pathway of outstanding UX. You might have done this from within a product organisation (as a portfolio design lead or product designer) or from the agency or consulting side (as a Product Designer, Senior Designer, Principal Designer)Given that we are a consulting business and have a strong emphasis on collaboration and team culture - the active presence of our team contributes significantly to making us who we are. This role is mostly in-office (with plenty of flexibility around life, whanau and hybrid working).
