Principal Enterprise Architect at Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade, WellingtonThe Ministry acts in the world to build a safer, more prosperous and more sustainable future for New Zealanders.
You will be responsible for the overall strategy and approach to the digital future across all the Ministry's systems, working closely with the Head of Architecture to ensure that MFAT has a roadmap to delivery MFAT's digital infrastructure and platforms.
This is a new role in the Information Management Division (IMD) for an 18-month Fixed Term Contract based in Wellington.
We are recruiting a Principal Enterprise Architect fixed term to join the MFAT team for 18 months. This is a rare opportunity to apply your project management expertise in an exciting and truly unique environment.
Our Information Management Division (IMD) provides key services to the Ministry in the areas of knowledge and information technology management, ensuring that the Ministry has the digital tools it needs to enable day-to-day business.
This pivotal role is part of the new Design and Delivery team in IMD. This role will support MFAT to align the designs and solutions to the Ministry's evolving requirements, constraints, challenges, and environments.
The Principal Enterprise Architect is responsible for:
Maintaining the Ministry's current state architecture and identifying a strategic application future state design/roadmapContributing to the overall enterprise architecture frameworkCollaborating with other members of the Architecture team, Product Groups, Service Providers, and the business customersProviding specialist advice applying comprehensive knowledge of the business, enterprise, and application architecture for all significant Ministry processes and applicationsProviding expertise in the design of Ministry application architectureResearching and reviewing technologies in the marketplace to understand where they might add value for the MinistrySupporting the outcomes of solution approvals by ensuring that the overall application architecture is fit for purpose and leads to cost-effective, integrated, supported, and suitably future-proof applications.The full salary range is $144,934 to $196,087 (total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution). We expect to hire around the midpoint $170,510, depending on your level of experience.
We'd like to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:
A minimum of 10 years of Enterprise Architecture experienceExpertise and understanding of Business, Application, Data, and Infrastructure domainsDemonstrated experience of modelling in the above domainsAdvanced skills in managing the development of architecture to meet business requirementsExperience in a security agency would be advantageousIdeally, you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Maori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Maori (the Maori worldview) into your work. If you are just starting on this journey, that's OK too – as long as you have a willingness to learn and a desire to develop your cultural capability.
