Join a diverse and passionate team as our Desktop Asset Analyst Newly created role with great exposure CBD offices in Wellington Permanent full-time role with flexible working options on offer We're looking for an enthusiastic Desktop Asset Analyst to join the Information Services team. Reporting to the Product Manager, Corporate Systems, this is a new permanent full-time position, based in Wellington. Information Services is structured into Towers where Product teams manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of their specific products. The Corporate Tower manages systems and networks associated with Customs' corporate systems. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Desktop Asset Manager to ensure that end user computing services and tools meet the requirements of the business. The Desktop Asset Analyst will support the Desktop Asset Manager to enable the ongoing end-to-end management of Customs' Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, mobile phone, and video conferencing assets, ensuring asset records are maintained with accurate End-User computing data. You will also assist with the management of the maintenance and enhancement of appropriately specified Standard Operating Environments (SOE's) for the various devices, in conjunction with technical vendor support teams, including technical support, problem solving, and executive deskside assistance. Customs is aligned with Microsoft's cloud-based products and services and their Modern Work strategic direction. You will be comfortable liaising with key stakeholders (ranging from operational leaders through to senior executives) through an ongoing requirements gathering process, to determine the organisation's specific and constantly evolving needs for end user devices. To be successful as Desktop Asset Analyst, the appointee requires the following knowledge, experience, skills, qualifications and/or personal attributes: A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience. The ability to develop, interpret and analyse reports, for example, system logs and incident and problem reports. Technical knowledge of the key aspects of end-user computing devices that determine their ability to meet user's needs (specifications, capabilities, model variations etc); Able to build effective working relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Able to effectively communicate ideas to non-technical audiences. Self-managing and able to prioritise work to ensure critical activities are not delayed. Be an advocate for Customs in interactions with external parties, vendors and suppliers. Have a strong customer focus.
