We are seeking an experienced, passionate person to help take our Pharmaceuticals Directorate to the next level. With new funding for medicines, and an evolving pharmaceutical landscape, the Pharmaceuticals Directorate has an exciting programme of work ahead to deliver on Pharmac's strategic objectives.
Reporting to the Director, Pharmaceuticals, this position plays a key role in supporting operational and strategic planning for the Pharmaceuticals Directorate, in particular in relation to commercial activities for pharmaceuticals.
As a trusted, experienced advisor, you will provide sound and insightful advice to the Director, Pharmaceuticals on a range of strategic, organisational and operational issues. In this role you will also support Pharmac's business strategy and planning work for medicines, with a focus on future fiscal and clinical sustainability and supporting equitable health outcomes.
This is a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on shaping how Pharmac achieves the best health outcomes for New Zealanders from within our fixed budget for medicines.
The salary range for this position is $128,950 - $174,462 total remuneration, including 3% Employer KiwiSaver contribution. The appointment salary will be subject to the preferred candidate's relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
This position is Wellington based.

Our ideal candidate would have:
a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the New Zealand pharmaceutical market, and health sector.
previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry or health sector
proven experience building effective working relationships, and fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
strong analytical skills and the ability to navigate and interpret complex financial and clinical data
excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly present complex information and concepts
understanding of the New Zealand public sector and machinery of government
ability to work autonomously, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative to accomplish tasks and achieve objectives independently.
