The Ministerial Services team provides timely, comprehensive, and tailored Ministerial services, including the release of information to Ministers and Parliament, and responses to parliamentary, customer, and public requests for information.The Principal Advisor plays a critical role in this team. The Principal Advisor takes the lead in managing the team's project work, including actions related to the Ombudsman's Official Information Act compliance and practice investigation. Extensive knowledge of, and experience working with, relevant legislation and machinery of government is essential.The Principal Advisor will also provide support to the management team and assist in building correspondence capability within the team and across the Ministry.You must be someone who has a strong service ethic and a positive attitude, who takes ownership of their work and drives it through delivery. The role will require an ability to prioritise and reprioritise a busy, fast-paced work programme. You will be comfortable dealing with a reasonable level of ambiguity. You will need to be able to see the bigger picture and make connections across work areas.The role is highly collaborative and you will need the confidence to develop and manage relationships at all levels across the Ministry. You will be able to develop trust and credibility with others.
