We care about the wellbeing and success of our people and provide a supportive and inclusive working environment where people can thrive and be who they are.Principal Advisor - Community CapabilityVaried, challenging and highly rewarding roleJoin our busy and motivated teamTwo Fixed term/secondment opportunities until 30 June 2025Location WellingtonWork to make a positive difference for New Zealand Pacific clients, families and communitiesThe Maori, Communities and Partnerships Group (MCP) is responsible for building capability across MSD to support the aspirations of Maori, Pacific and Migrant population groups, connecting and collaborating to build effective partnerships and community approaches that achieve better outcomes for those who most need our support.The Pacific and Community Capability Programmes team focuses on influencing and directly delivering major change strategies and initiatives for MCP. As a team we establish and lead Maori Communities and Partnerships programmes of work in relation to Pacific and Community Capability, including the development, implementation and ongoing review of strategies and action plans in these areas, such as Pacific Prosperity.The Principal Advisor Community Capability will provide high level strategic advice and technical expertise to the GM Pacific and Community Capability Programmes, to support the wider MCP Group and the wider Ministry work. The role focuses on supporting all communities, partners and providers across various regions.To be successful in the role, you will have the following:Extensive ability and experience in building and maintaining effective and collaborative relationshipsStrong influencing skills coupled with political savvyWell-developed analytical and writing skillsDemonstrated experience in providing strategic advice at a senior levelProven experience in service design, research and evaluationIn this role you will be influential amongst all community networks and drive improvements that will ultimately improve the lives and outcomes of all New Zealanders.
