About the Role As Principal Advisor Change Systems, you will play a crucial role in shaping and leading KiwiRail's enterprise wide approach to change management. You will provide thought leadership and expertise on major change, supporting the implementation of strategic initiatives across KiwiRail. This role is responsible for developing change management frameworks, tools, and methodologies to build change capability and drive successful transformations throughout the organisation. You will work closely with senior leaders to align change strategies with KiwiRail's vision and objectives, ensuring our transport network and services continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of New Zealand.
Key Accountabilities
Lead the development and implementation of KiwiRail's change management strategy, frameworks, and methodologies
Provide expert advice and guidance on complex change initiatives to senior leaders and project teams
Design and deliver change leadership programs to build change capability across the organisation
Establish a cross functional Change Centre of Excellence to drive best practices and continuous improvement in change management
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of change initiatives, using data and insights to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate change management into project and program delivery.
Mentor and coach other change professionals within KiwiRail to enhance overall change management maturity
Balancing the need for standardized change approaches with the flexibility required for different business units and projects.
Influencing senior leaders and building buy-in for new change management practices across the organisation
Managing multiple, concurrent change initiatives in a dynamic environment with competing priorities
What We're Looking For
Extensive experience (5+ years) leading complex change initiatives
Experience in technical (high asset infrastructure/transport industry) change with people change highly desired
Deep understanding of change management methods and best practices
Experience in setting up and running a Change Centre of Excellence
Proven ability to create and implement change strategies across an organisation
Skilled in managing stakeholders and influencing senior leaders
Familiarity with project and program management approaches
Experience in New Zealand's transport sector and government (preferred)
Inspiring leader with a strong ability to communicate about change at all levels
Influencer who can connect with diverse audiences
Analytical problem-solver who makes decisions based on data
Effective collaborator with multiple groups of stakeholders

Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualification in Business Change, Organisational Psychology, or a related field
