Our Wellington branch is expanding, and our brand-new prepared produce plant is seeking motivated team members to join our night shift operations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who excel in a team environment and have a passion for working with high-quality produce. The role includes responsibilities related to prepared produce as well as delivery driving.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning, washing, and processing fresh produce
Grading, cutting, dicing, and peeling vegetables and fruits
Weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients
Monitoring product quality by closely inspecting items before packaging
Operating machines to peel, core, slice, and dice fruits and vegetables
Frequent use of processing machinery
Vacuum packaging and labelling prepared produce
Cleaning equipment, pumps, hoses, storage tanks, vessels, and work areas
Delivering goods accurately and on time to customer premises
Strictly adhering to food safety standards and observing health and safety protocols
The job:
Full-time permanent position
Location: William Durant Drive, Upper Hutt
Training commences in 2 weeks
Roster: Wednesday to Sunday
Hours: 8.00 pm to 4.30 am (Saturday half day)
Sunday mornings – Delivery driving
The person:
Our ideal candidates will be someone with relevant experience in the Fresh Produce industry or warehousing/processing roles. You must be able to work in a cold environment. You would be physically fit and strong as some heavy lifting is involved. Good knife-handling skills are beneficial.
Class 1 Full drivers licence
Have intermediate literacy and numeracy skills
Experience in pick, pack, produce or food processing industry
Have basic knowledge of food ingredients
Be hardworking and reliable and must possess good work ethics
Strong understanding of Health and Safety requirements
Be flexible with hours and an excellent team player
Have reliable transport and must be able to commit to full-time hours
