Portfolio Lead - Capital Projects

We are partnering with a Tier-1 Mining Asset Owner to source a Portfolio Leader to lead and deliver a package of multidisciplinary capital projects across this brownfield operation while mentoring and managing a small team of talented professionals.This is a Monday to Friday position that requires the individual to be based in Invercargill NZ with some remote work options available.Accountabilities:Lead and deliver a portfolio of capital projects across various operational areas, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.Define project scopes and objectives, working closely with stakeholders to identify requirements and align outcomes with business needs.Coordinate and manage third-party consultants and engineering services, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.Develop tender packages for procurement, evaluate bids, and oversee contract negotiations and awards.Monitor project progress by developing and maintaining schedules, managing risks, and implementing mitigation plans where necessary.Collaborate with operations teams to align project activities with business priorities, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.Provide construction management services, including site planning, contractor coordination, and resolving issues in real-time.Lead project close-outs, ensuring all documentation, certifications, and operational readiness tasks are completed to hand over successfully to operations.Lead and mentor a small team of Project and Construction Leads, driving a collaborative and team-oriented environment.Provide guidance and feedback to support team members' progression, growth, and development.About You:Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, structural/civil, or electrical), project management or equivalent related experience.Proven experience in project management across the full lifecycle of projects throughout the mining, construction, or heavy industrial sectors.Strong leadership skills with demonstrated success in managing and developing teams.Deep knowledge of project lifecycle management, including scope development, budgeting, and risk management.Experience in procurement, tendering processes, and contractor management.Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving priorities.If you're a seasoned project manager with a passion for leading teams and delivering results, we'd love to hear from you!Please submit your resume in WORD format and we will be in touch accordingly.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeContractJob functionEngineering and Project ManagementIndustriesMining, Oil and Gas, and Construction
