You will be at the forefront delivering community programmes and enhancing the visitor experience in Milford Sound/ Piopiotahi- a world-class visitor experience in this unique World Heritage site.As a busy visitor and commercial hub, Milford Sound/ Piopiotahi presents unique challenges and opportunities.
You will lead strategic planning, monitoring, and compliance for concessions, permissions, and resource consents.
Building and strengthening iwi relationships and fostering partnerships with key stakeholders will also be central to your success in this role.Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experienceIf you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:Experience with statutory processes, concessions, or permissions work.Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills.Knowledge of conservation and visitor management.Excellent planning and organisational skills, with an ability to meet deadlines while managing competing demands.Highly motivated, well-organised, and committed to enhancing community and conservation outcomes.Computer savvy and confident using databases and management information systems.Strong interpersonal, communication, and engagement skills.Agile minded with the ability to learn quickly and use your own initiative.A full New Zealand driver licence.DesirableExperience working and partnering with whanau, hapu and iwi and a commitment to strengthening these relationships.Nga ahuatanga kei a matou | What's in it for you?DOC places importance on developing a culture where everyone can participate, thrive, and grow.
