To do that,West Oak Family Office in Calgary, Alberta has brought together a dedicated team of people to support your every move ensuring that all facets of your family's wealth are fully understood, properly integrated, administratively maintained and fit your life, both now and in the years ahead.The opportunity:Reporting to Senior Portfolio Managers at West Oak Family Office , the Portfolio Analyst, Investment Management plays an integral role in supporting the investment management operations by providing investment analysis, performance analysis / reporting, portfolio construction through ongoing investment modelling, securities analysis, multi-manager due diligence, and cash management to support consistent positive client outcomes.Key responsibilities include:Managing credit and debit balances on an ongoing basis ensuring minimal debit costs and reasonable loose cash balances to minimize cash drag.Modeling and trading client portfolios according to their Investment Policy Statement (IPS) and tactical asset allocation (TAA) ensuring minimal trading errors.Attending the weekly Investment Committee (IC) Meeting acting as a key idea contributor to the investment management process.Preparing weekly portfolio analytics for fixed income, equity, and multi-manager models.Preparing requested company research or custom client performance reporting as required.Adding to the investment process and portfolio construction solutions for clients in the following areas:Fixed IncomeMoney Market / Cash ManagementIndividual Bonds3 rd Party Multi ManagersCredit StrategiesSmall CapUS EquitiesGlobal EquityInternational EquitiesAlternativesPrivate CreditPrivate EquityInfrastructurePerforming other duties as assigned.The ideal candidate will possess:A degree or diploma in finance, economics, data science, computer science, or investment related field.A minimum 3 years of progressive experience undertaking investment analysis, performance reporting, undertaking manager due diligence, or security analysis experience.Option Licensing (CIRO) is an asset.IR Licensing (within 6 months); RR licensing is an asset.An ability to exhibit high level of professionalism that allows clients to feel comfortable discussing personal, confidential information.Proficiency with the MSOffice suite, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, and Outlook.Coding (Python, R, C++) and/or strong MS excel data aggregation experience.Experience using Bloomberg (PORT)and/or FactSet (SCREENING), Thomson One for data analytics, quotes, research.Advent Genesis, Moxy for modelling, bulk trading, and execution.Basic knowledge of Canadian income taxation for purposes of tax efficiently modelling client portfolios.An ability to work autonomously and as part of a team & as a self-starter.A growth mindset and desire to improve investment analysis and/or data science skills in synthesizing data.Strong communication, analytical, problem solving, risk management minded.Curiosity and willingness to learn.Professional, positive, cooperative attitude with a focus on doing what's right for clients.A high level of accountability, reliability, adaptability, and innovation in accomplishing day to day work and long-term goals.A high tolerance for ambiguity; highly adaptive and able to manage a large volume of competing priorities.Conditions of employment:Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.Current and maintained registration as an IR or RR, including completion of all courses and experience requirements, with IIROC with the ongoing requirement to fulfill Continuing Education requirements.A background check, satisfactory to the employer, may be required of the successful applicant prior to commencing employment.Wellington-Altus Private Wealth is strongly committed to equity and diversity within its community and welcomes applications from women, racialized persons, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and persons of all sexual orientations and genders.
