They will provide HR advice and guidance on internal policies, employment matters, performance management processes, recruitment and more.As a district council, our environment is reasonably complex, which means you will get great exposure to different facets of HR.
You will be excellent at building relationships and seeing the bigger picture, and have a knack for ensuring overall administrative processes work smoothly and efficiently.What will you do?Partner with stakeholders in your portfolio to provide expert HR advice and guidance on policies, processes, and performance management.Drafting contractual offers and variations in accordance with employment legislation with high attention to detail.Support managers on performance management processes and development plans.Add value to recruitment processes, culture and training initiatives.Lead the recruitment processes by participating in interviews and providing input on hiring decisions for Team Leader positions.Ensure a great onboarding experience, facilitate Exit interviews as part of the off-boarding process, and report on trends.Support the team People and Culture with HR projects and Health and Safety duties.Review, draft and size (SP10 methodology) position descriptions.About you.Relevant qualification or at least two years' experience in the People and Capability space.Sound understanding and working knowledge of employee relations, NZ employment law, and HR best practices.Desire to learn and develop a career in H&S or HR.Ability to build professional relationships within the team and across our Council.Excellent administration, computer, and communication skills.Applicants must have the right to live and work in New Zealand statement.Applications close at 5:00pm, Sunday 28 July.
