The Road Forward Trust works with adult survivors of sexual harm with a particular focus on male survivors.
We are seeking a person to be a manager and a peer support worker.
The peer support role involves:
Walking alongside men on their journey to healing aiming to make a measurable difference in their lives.
Developing networks of contacts and stakeholders to better support clients.
Communicating over the phone, meeting clients, facilitating groups.
Working with trauma and (predominantly) male survivors of sexual abuse.
Sharing power with, perhaps from your own lived experience.
Working with the values of Purposeful Peer Support.
The manager role involves:
Ensuring the provision of safe, ethical peer support services to survivors/clients.
Managing and supporting the small staff team.
Ensuring the efficient operation of the service through following the Board's directives and sound management practices.
Maintaining and growing the professional profile of The Road Forward to community groups, government agencies, and the wider community.
Ensuring the operation of the Trust is within Board approved budgets.
Experience we are looking for includes:
Experience as a peer support facilitator.
Previous experience in an allied field.
Good people skills across cultures.
Management experience and skills.
