Part Time Chef/Cook Required

Job Summary

We are looking for a creative, passionate, and enthusiastic chef/cook to join our lively rugby club at Wellington. The role includes catering for club members, players and visitors as well as opportunities to cater for functions as a result of private club hire.

The ideal person will have :

Experience of working in a busy environment

Hands-on experience with various commercial grade kitchen equipment

Good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure

Self-motivation, able to work alone and as part of a team.

Knowledge of good practices of food hygiene and health and safety including relevant qualifications

Main duties

Create a menu and prepare (flexibility to pre cook on Friday) food for after match meals on Saturday afternoon (seniors)

Create a menu and prepare food for after match meals on Sunday morning (Minis & Juniors) and Sunday afternoons (as and when required)

Prepare and cook food for sale to spectators on Sunday morning

Liase with Club Committee when ordering ingredients for weekend meals ensuring balance of quality ingredients and cost effectiveness

Ensure ingredients and food are correctly stored

Maintain a clean and safe working environment including full clean down after matches and events

Assist, mentor and guide volunteers working in the kitchen

Lead the volunteer team on Bonfire Night to cater for public sales

Cater for ad hoc private functions/social events by agreement

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.06-£13.31 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 16 per week

Experience:

Chef: 1 year (preferred)

Cooking: 1 year (preferred)

Kitchen experience: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: In person
