Job Description
Pastry Cook I
Elevate the Fairmont Waterfront dining experience with your leadership, creativity, and mastery as a Pastry Cook I, shaping a delectable array of baked goods that define our commitment to exceptional service and unforgettable cuisine.
What you will be doing:
Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
Ensure daily checks of all mis en place to ensure freshness and quality standards
Prepare daily production of breads, rolls, muffins and other baked goods according to standard recipes for Banquets, ARC Restaurant & In-Room Dining
Inspect product for quality and consistency during and after baking
Review production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake
Monitor inventory of supplies and order stock based on daily and weekly requirements
Assist in the Banquet Kitchen as needed
Complete production sheets needed for the daily operation
Maintain consistency for all breakfast bakeries and pastries
Follow Kitchen policies, procedures and service standards including safety and sanitation policies
Your experience and skills include:
Previous 2 years' experience in a Bakery required
Journeyperson's papers or international equivalent preferred
Diploma/Certification in a Culinary discipline preferred
BC Food Safe Certification required
Ability to work either 11:00 pm-7:00 am shift or 3:00 am-11:30 am
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
