Operations Manager Join an industry leader in renewable energy!Flexible working options and an annual opportunity to purchase additional leaveHealth, life and income protection insuranceWe are seeking someone experienced in the Electricity industry to take responsibility for the day-to-day activities of running our generation assets. Currently, these include our two gensets, the Rotohiko BESS, and the Naumai Solar Farm, but we are building more which will require the associated work of administration and governance.
About the Role This position will report to our Generation Asset Manager and key areas of focus will include:
Ensuring the efficient operation of our current assets through monitoring maintenance and repairs, taking responsibility for the weekly gas nominations for the genset fuel, and working with our Trading Manager to support the monitoring of the wholesale electricity prices.Undertaking initiatives to reduce waste and improve asset efficiency, performance, and utilization.Supporting the Generation Asset Manager in contract and asset management activities for Lodestone Energy Ltd.Reporting for operational and compliance requirements.Managing contracts and agreements with our business partners in support of our assets.Tracking expenses and overseeing the maintenance budget.Developing processes and procedures to enhance the lifecycle of our assets.Skills & Experience This is a busy hands-on role and will give you the opportunity to really take ownership of what you do. You will have the skills to work with resilience and agility as we grow and:
Hold an appropriate tertiary qualification with knowledge of mechanical engineering. If you are also a registered Electrician with a current practicing certificate – then all the better!Have experience working in the electricity industry and an understanding of the energy market.Bring us your sound commercial knowledge as well as proficiency with energy-related assets.Have the ability to build strong, positive relationships to engage with stakeholders within and external to the business.Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.About the Business NewPower Energy Services Ltd (NewPower) and sister company Infratec NZ Ltd design, build, and commission world-class renewable energy projects.
