A Sprig + Fern Tavern is opening soon in a stunning new location in Marsden Valley – we have several opportunities available to anyone looking to be a part of this exciting, community-focused venue.
We are currently looking to fill the roles of Tavern Manager, Duty Manager, bar staff, a cook, and kitchen hands.
All of these roles share a lot in common, including: Serving food and beverages to customers in a friendly and pleasant manner, while keeping the bar and kitchen running smoothly.
Cleaning tables, bar, glassware, cutlery and crockery and other equipment as needed.
An ability to work quickly, manage time efficiently, and handle multiple requests at once.
Good communication and excellent interpersonal skills – both within your team and with customers of all ages.
Maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene.
Observant of health and safety, as well as being mindful of and monitoring intoxication.
Preparation of food, including awareness of dietary requirements and food hygiene.
Able to work as part of a small and efficient team.
For the Tavern Manager role, we are seeking an individual who also has the following experience: Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a food and beverage supervisory or management role.
Comfort working within and overseeing a bustling hospitality environment.
Management of wage and stock costs, and overseeing of food, drink and other inventory levels.
Ensuring the health and safety of property and staff at all times.
Recruitment and training of new staff, and working with existing staff to continuously improve standards and procedures.
Complying with the Sale & Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and other compliance requirements.
All roles require flexibility to work rostered shifts which may incorporate days, evenings, weekends and/or public holidays.
Current eligibility to work in New Zealand is essential.
