New Entrant Teacher

We are seeking a new entrant superstar to join our fabulous team! Kaurihohore school is a wonderful place to be, a place that prioritises relationships and truly places children at the heart of what we do. We are close to town, but maintain our rural feel. It is very rare that permanent jobs come up at our place and we are seeking just the right person to add their strengths to the mix.
This position is for a new entrant/Y1 teacher. The successful applicant must be able to use play as the driving force of learning and place relational approaches at the heart of what they do. They must understand and be able to use developmentally appropriate practice, have a strong understanding of how to develop oral language and operate a neurodiversity affirming learning space.
Ideally, the successful applicant will have an understanding of using evidenced based practice, in particular having an understanding of how this relates to literacy and maths acquisition specifically. They will have excellent communication skills, a strong sense of compassion and the ability to work as part of a team. They will also be skilled in managing the transition process for children and their whanau. Ideally, the successful applicant will have an understanding of trauma aware practice and be familiar with the work of Ross Greene.
