With the global expertise gained from serving the environment for more than 150 years, Veolia operates in more than 40 countries around the world, with well over a hundred sites and approximately 4000 employees in Australia & New Zealand.We currently have a vacancy for a Networks Operator based in Thames who will be responsible for operating and maintaining water, wastewater and stormwater reticulation networks. The Network Operator is to ensure service delivery demonstrates Veolia's commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and customer service while meeting performance and key performance indicators and applying health and safety procedures.What's on offerOn the job training and career development.A great team-working environment.Competitive hourly rate.What you'll be responsible forMaintenance and repair of the water and wastewater reticulation networks.Installation and repair of water metres.Repair of burst water mains.Act as a point of contact for customer requests for service. Appropriately respond to these in a timely manner, assessing and coordinating remedial action if required.Accurately log all reports and jobs, completing the necessary paperwork and filing where required.Participate in the development and implementation of Capital Works improvement programs.Provide network operations support to the Networks Supervisor and Veolia team undertaking minor repairs, assisting with major repairs and replacing reticulated pipelines.Positively contribute to the district based operations teams by fostering effective working relationships with field, engineering and management staff, client representatives, customers and suppliers.Undertake such general duties as required for the effective provision of services to the client and customers.What you'll need to be successfulAn effective communicator who can interact and relate to staff at all levels of the organisation, and the client/customers.Willing to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues for a harmonious team environment.A self-starter who can work with a high degree of autonomy.Planning and organisational ability.Proven ability to maintain accurate work records.High degree of personal integrity.A good work ethic.Confidence in one's own judgement and capability.Can maintain a stable performance level during periods of pressure.Able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.Good literacy and numeracy skills.Willing to complete further training as required.Current full driver's licence (preferably with Class 2).Traffic Management (preferred).Working Heights (preferred).Confined Space (preferred).National Certificate in Water Reticulation (preferred).Ability and willingness to work out of hours when required.Participation of on-call roster.Basic understanding of Health and Safety legislation.At Veolia Australia and New Zealand, you'll join a team of over 4000 passionate innovators and good humans.
